Hungry for Halibut

February 16, 2011

You can never go wrong with a good piece of white fish, and lucky for me, the local grocery store started carrying Wild Alaskan Halibut Steaks.

So, what’s for dinner? I decided I didn’t want just broiled or baked fish; I wanted something with a little more kick.

Ingredients

2 Halibut (or any white fish) Steaks

1/2 cup Panko Breadcrumbs

1 egg

1/2 cup all purpose flour

1 tsp chili powder (divided in 1/2)

1 tsp cumin (divided in 1/2)

1 tsp garlic powder (divided in 1/2)

Garlic Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions

Mix flour, 1/2 cumin, 1/2 garlic powder and 1/2 chili powder together in a bowl. Mix the other half of those three ingredients with the Panko. Beat an egg in a third bowl. Dip your fish first in the flour mixture, next in the egg, and lastly in the Panko mixture. Salt and Pepper each side and place it on a broiling pan.

Broil your fish for about 8 minutes on each side or until it looks ready! Serve with your favorite sides and dinner is done! For us, sauteed veggies and portabella mushrooms.

Happy eating!
